Listernaut founders started out in the wholesale to retail e-commerce business and then started buying products from local Indianapolis auction companies for resale online.  Once they had the auction bug, they started out selling their collections on HiBid. 

Cataloging was slow.  They set out to account for their LPH (Listings per hour) and improve these metrics across their team.  The company grew from three founders to over 30 staff members and 17 dedicated catalogers.  These 17 catalogers were cataloging around 2000 lots per day collectively, or 16 LPH.  The founders set out to design a software that could increase this LPH.  

Originally, Listernaut was developed by a college student for internal use only.  Once the software was beta tested and functional the team had a way to increase the LPH to over 100.  Ironically, the week Listernaut was rolled out to the staff a few bad apples decides to strike their wages which were $20 per hour.  As you may have guessed, auction cataloging is not a unionized job and the walk out resulted in resignations being accepted.  After a month the team was down to 3 catalogers.  These 3 catalogers did 2000 listings collectively and $582,400 in overhead went straight to the bottom line.

Listernaut was redeveloped to make the cataloging process so easy our 80 year old super employee could use the software.  She was trained in 30 minutes and was listing hundreds of items per day.  Our goal was to make it easier to catalog faster. Mission accomplished. We now have developers on staff to customize features for our users based on their specific needs.
